His literary representative, Robert Barnett, points out that ”Jim has all of these incredible franchises,” including the popular series Maximum Ride, Daniel X and the Alex Cross detective stories. ”And when you put all of those franchises together, that’s a lot of books.”

The 17 books will be a mix of adult thrillers (10), young adult fiction (6) and one non fiction book to be complete by the end of 2012. If the world ends I won’t have time to read them all!

My love of reading has matured into a desire to write. My favorite authors include Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jonathan Kellerman, John Sanford, Greg Iles and Tami Hoag.

Stephen King creates such amazing characters, they become full bodied, three dimensional beings. I always finish his books feeling as though I have a new group of friends, some I like more than others. He builds his characters with such finesse, he makes it look easy. Of course it’s not that easy or more writers would be able to do it.

Dean Koontz is another author who builds strong characters. He weaves supernatural elements into the stories along with political conspiracies, corporate cover-ups and lots of action.

Jonathan Kellerman is a former child psychologist and he incorporates his expertise in his protagonist, Alex Delaware.

John Sandford also has a recurring character in his Prey books, Lucas Davenport. Sanford’s books tend to be gruesome, with sadistic serial killers and plenty of suspense.

Greg Iles creates high tension in domestic situations and Tami Hoag uses family dynamics.

I have been busy writing and editing and just can’t keep up with this blog. I hope to come back soon, but in the meantime if you’re looking for more information for writers, visit Fictionway
